High Falls Engagement Shoot Rochester New York

High Falls engagement shoot in Rochester NY by Rich Paprocki

Spring has finally hit us in Rochester New York, as the weather is getting MUCH warmer. This means it is time for engagement session season! Chris and Sierra lucked out with a 60 degree day, as we started in High Falls and ended at Corn Hill Landing. These locations are quite popular among photographers and visitors, as they showcase a lot of Rochester’s natural beauty.

Other than the great views of the waterfall on the Genesee River and the city skyline, I like to look for interesting nooks and angles throughout these areas. I use these elements to make creative layers and textures in my photographs. Whether it is shapes in old buildings, puddles, or reflections in the water, there are unlimited options to work with. With the help of my assistant Alex, holding the new Magbox filled with Godox lights, we were able to make some fun and creative shots. Off camera flash has been a huge part of my photographs for as long as I remember. I got started within the strobist community back in 2007 and never looked back!

Chris and Sierra will be getting married at the beautiful Wintergarden next month. The Wintergarden has come to be one of my favorite wedding venues in Rochester. Check back to see those photos in June. Enjoy!
